You’ve been thinking about a boudoir shoot. You’ve looked at the gorgeous images on my website. You’ve imagined yourself in that beautiful lingerie set you’ve been saving “for best.”
And then the thought hits you like a ton of satin pillows:
“But I don’t know how to pose.”
Suddenly, the daydream turns into a full-blown confidence wobble. You imagine standing in my studio, not knowing what to do with your hands, your legs, or your face… and you’re convinced you’ll look more “confused flamingo” than “smouldering goddess.”
Sound familiar?
Let me stop you right there — because if there’s one thing I want you to know before you even set foot in my Romsey boudoir studio, it’s this:
You don’t need to know a single thing about posing. Not. A. Thing.
In over two decades as a specialist boudoir photographer, I’ve photographed more than a thousand women of every imaginable body shape, size, flexibility level, shyness level, and confidence level.
And here’s the truth: whether you’re a natural in front of the camera or you feel like you’ve never taken a flattering photo in your life, I’ve got you covered.
I don’t expect you to turn up knowing your angles or how to pop a hip. I do expect you to arrive with an open mind and a willingness to have a little fun… because once you step into the studio, posing is my department.
This might sound a bit mysterious, but the second you walk through my studio door, I can already picture the poses that will work beautifully for your body shape, personality, and comfort level.
Are you flexible and happy to get into dramatic floor poses? Fabulous — we’ll go there.
Prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground? No problem — there are endless gorgeous, flattering poses that don’t require you to be a contortionist.
You will never be left wondering what to do. I demonstrate each pose first, and then I gently guide you into position — from the angle of your chin to the point of your toes.
We’ll find your “good side” (you definitely have one) and I’ll show you how tiny tweaks — a turn of the wrist, a shift in weight, a change in expression — can take a pose from “nice” to “oh my word, that’s ME?!”
And if something feels awkward? That’s completely normal. Some of the most flattering poses feel a bit strange when you’re doing them, but on camera they are pure magic.
This is not a conveyor-belt photoshoot. There’s no rushing, no barking orders, no pressure to “get it right” quickly.
We work at your pace, with plenty of time to relax, laugh, and ease into it. I’ll keep an eye on your comfort and adjust anything that doesn’t feel natural.
Many women start their shoot feeling a little tentative, but by the end, they’re moving from pose to pose with confidence — and often asking to try more!
There’s always a moment — and it’s my favourite part of every shoot — when I show you the very first image on the back of my camera.
You’ll look at me, then at the photo, then back at me again. There’s often a little gasp, a “No way!”, or even a happy tear.
And that’s when it clicks. You see yourself not through your own overly critical eyes, but the way the rest of the world sees you: beautiful, confident, and absolutely worth celebrating.
“I was terrified I’d look awkward, but Julie showed me exactly what to do. She even demonstrated the poses herself (and she’s a lot more flexible than I am!). The photos blew me away — I couldn’t believe that was me!”
“I thought I wasn’t photogenic, but within minutes Julie had me feeling like a model. Every pose felt comfortable, and she made me laugh the whole time.”
