That’s exactly what one of my recent clients, a fabulous 62-year-old, did when she decided to treat herself to a boudoir experience. For this client, a casual chat with a good friend planted the seed for her boudoir shoot. “A very good friend of mine planted the idea when we were talking, and I ran with it!” she shared. The Pre-Shoot Jitters
Like many women, she felt a mix of excitement and nerves in the lead-up to her shoot. “I was excited and nervous at the same time,” she admitted. “All of the information provided by Julie was really useful, as was the phone call a couple of days beforehand.” Preparation is key to calming those pre-shoot jitters, and I always aim to ensure my clients feel supported every step of the way.

Her main concern? Confidence. “I worried I wouldn’t feel confident enough to enjoy it and that the outfits I had chosen wouldn’t work,” she said. Our talented makeup artist, Miriam, worked her magic to bring out her natural glow. “Miriam did a wonderful job of my hair and makeup. She listened to what I wanted, and I felt so glamorous!” Seeing that sparkle in someone’s eye when they see their reflection for the first time is always a highlight of the day.
Stepping Into the Studio
When the big day arrived, she felt ready and excited. “You put me at my ease with our conversation beforehand,” she said. Boudoir photography is all about trust, and creating a warm, welcoming environment helps every client feel at home.
The Shoot Experience
“I absolutely loved it!” she said of her session. “It was very easy to follow your posing guidance, and it led to great photos.” Many clients worry about not knowing how to pose, but that’s where I come in. Every pose is fully guided to ensure you look and feel amazing.

When it came time to view her images, she was blown away. “It felt a bit surreal thinking that it really was me!” she said. Choosing her final images was the hardest part. “Not easy at all. I took a long time to narrow it down to the final 30.”

Her message to any woman considering a boudoir shoot? “DO IT! It was such a confidence boost and so empowering seeing myself like that. Make it a gift to yourself—you’re worth it!” Her words are a rallying cry for every woman who’s ever doubted her beauty or worth.

After her shoot, she noticed a shift in how she saw herself. “I do think about myself differently now,” she shared. “I love changing the image in my display box and reminding myself of how awesome I am.” The confidence boost and self-love she gained are lasting reminders of her incredible experience.
Would She Do It Again?
“Quite possibly,” she said. “It was such a great experience.” And honestly, I would love nothing more than to have her back in the studio, embracing her beauty all over again.
